Davis Brown Law Corporate Offices

Des Moines, IA

Services provided on this project:

Architecture Overview:

This major tenant project fueled the development of the first spec office building in this city for 18 years. Outgrowing their aged existing tenant space, this significant law firm solidified their commitment to the downtown business core by partnering with a local developer. "Professionally understated" character was desired by the client as they have a diverse client base. The contemporary edge was matched with traditional, stately material selections. The reception / lobby areas are strategically located in the cyclinder of the 13th floor, taking advantage of an extensive curtain wall of glass.

Interior Design Overview:

“Professionally understated” character was the desired aesthetic as this law firm serves a diverse client base. The expansive reception area and lobby is a balanced blend of history and progression that speaks closely to the firm's values. The contemporary edge was matched with traditional, stately material selections to articulate the long-standing history behind the law firm. Small-scale, tufted lounge pieces offset an expansive lobby space filled with natural daylight. Richly textured granite floors were counteracted by chocolate inlaid carpet and large, expansive glass walls looking into conference spaces and the exterior of the building. To add warmth to the design, a mix of maple, cherry and bamboo woods were used on the floor and as paneling throughout the public spaces.
