The Louis Sullivan Building Foundation - Adams Land & Loan Tile & Urn Restoration
Services provided on this project:
Art Studio Overview:
RDG Dahlquist Art Studio, working in conjunction with architect Michael Emerson (VOA, Chicago, Illinois), first fabricated tapestry brick to restore the loggia at the bank entrance. The brick’s unique size, texture, and flashing had to match the surrounding existing brickwork. Recently, Dahlquist Art Studio re-created the full-scale Sullivan ornamental pier caps and accompanying urns in glazed terra cotta. These 3’ diameter urns are also being fabricated in cast stone.
