Porter-Leath opens Early Childhood Academy

For more than 160 years, Porter-Leath has been the primary resource for Memphis’ at-risk children and families. Over the past two of those years, it has been the great honor of RDG Planning & Design to work with the organization to design the Early Childhood Academy, a state-of-the-art, 32,000-square-foot preschool in South Memphis for 224 Head Start and Early Head Start children ages six weeks to five years. After much anticipation, the Academy opened its doors on February 10 to an abundance of excitement as families, educators, and Memphis community members gathered to celebrate and dedicate the world-class early education school.
