Lieferbräu Brewery was born when Kris Liefer took the leap of opening a brick-and-mortar location in historic Red Bud, Illinois, to brew and sell German-style beers true to their German family heritage. This historic brick structure offered the perfect opportunity for RDG's interior designers to take their cue from the building and the family's farming legacy and design the space around a modern farmhouse aesthetic.  What began as a passion project, showcasing German-style beers at local festivals has now evolved into a distinguished brick-and-mortar brewery.   

The design features a warm, earthy color palette with rich subtle golds, warm bronze with touches of antique gold, and a hint of saffron as a nod to the corn and wheat on the family farm. The building's narrow footprint - just 32' - made banquette-style booth seating a practical and attractive solution. The existing brick walls and beadboard ceiling worked perfectly into the design concept, as did an antique butler's pantry, which became the back bar, refinished in an antique white. Decorative lighting is in bronze and gold tones, with a chandelier custom made from an old barn beam, with Edison-bulb lights wrapped around it. The bar area is distinguished by a rustic tin ceiling. The Lieferbrau logo and a wheat sheaf are carved into the front bar and painted antique gold, and the company's mission statement is branded in wood panels at the back bar.
