Central College - Phyllis Bornt Plaza & Campus Entry Improvements

Located in rural Iowa, Central College is a unique "small town" campus that offers a world class education. As colleges and universities compete for the best students, one of the most significant factors affecting a student’s decision for higher education is often their image of the campus. RDG Planning & Design was commissioned to help improve the perceptions and first impressions of the Central campus for current and future students. RDG worked with faculty and staff to create a new entry plaza and gateway signs. Consideration was given to incorporate green infrastructure practices through stormwater best management practices, native ecotype plants, local materials and LED lighting technologies.
