Landscape Architecture Overview:
This "crown jewel" of the city’s park system acts as a trailhead to the regional trails system, provides much needed recreational amenities and hotel/conference facilities, and serves as a "postcard" for Des Moines. Previously under-utilized, Gray’s Lake is now a centerpiece of community culture, a focal point for every visitor, and a hub of activity in the shadows of the Des Moines skyline. The loop recreational trail provides access to a variety of amenities, including boardwalks, water play areas, boat ramps, marinas, and a park resource center.
