Architecture Overview:
RDG worked closely with the Police and Fire departments, as well with the City of Omaha's Facilities Management Office, to join this new 72,000 SF Administration and Classroom Center with the Nebraska Army National Guard’s recently completed 45,000 SF Readiness Center. Joining the National Guard and the City of Omaha’s facilities provided spaces that could be used jointly between all groups. Two Indoor Gun Ranges and a 15,000 SF indoor practical applications training area, that can be used for night training during the day, water flow demonstrations, laddering, rappelling and advance hose training are highlights of the new facility. Other components included: Three clean classrooms, also serving as a secondary; EOC for the City of Omaha; Two practical classrooms; Administrative spaces; Indoor 25-yard tactical gun range; Indoor 50-yard fixed gun range; Driving simulation rooms; FATS room (Fire Arms Training Simulator); Crime scene scenario rooms; Practical training facilities; and Defensive tactics areas.
