Landscape Architecture Overview:
This master plan is intended to provide guidance for the design of a new West 7th Street Corridor that stretches from Wesley Parkway to Hamilton Boulevard. The plan was crafted through a robust public process, including an advisory group and stakeholder group consisting of business owners along West 7th Street. In order to create a pedestrian friendly environment, green spaces and gathering areas will be added and the traffic lanes will be reduced from four to three, allowing for wider sidewalks and lane widths. The redesigned streets will include convenient areas for parking, allow needed access for loading and unloading, and accommodate all forms of transportation. Unique artwork at the entries to the corridor and along the street will be added to give the area an identity within Sioux City. The efforts along the corridor will ensure longevity of the streetscape and the elements used will be durable and low maintenance.
