Architecture Overview:

The addition/renovation of the existing King Center, on the southwestern edge of campus, creates a holistic Wellness and Recreation Center. The new south entrance is accented by a vertical stone masonry element that will incorporate signage and reinforce the SDSM&T brand to enhance the building’s theme/feel. The mono-sloping roof element signifies entry and is integrated with a flat seam metal roof system that covers the new cardio fitness area. Casual lounge seating is incorporated into the new entry corridor. The main components of the project include: two-court gymnasium, a bouldering wall, group exercise area, fitness and weights area, expanded women's athletic locker room,  new men's and women's recreation locker rooms and universal access that connects all three floor levels of the existing facility.
