Art Studio Overview:

David Dahlquist served as the historic design consultant on this major urban restoration project. Located in the heart of downtown Des Moines, the National Register building was transformed from the monumental Masonic Temple to a thriving mixed-use commercial center, complete with restaurants, offices, and theatres, and reception and performance venues. RDG Dahlquist Art Studio completed the terra cotta restoration of the "granitized" blocks of the plinth or base coursing. The studio also performed major interior plaster restoration, pulling latex rubber molds for in-site repair. The studio also oversaw the repair and stabilization of interior stained-glass "skylights" in the Grand Hall ceiling.
