Lighting Design Overview:
A fully integrated lighting system was designed to bring new life to this historic railroad bridge and allow for its rebirth as a part of the Riverwalk trail system. Lighting fixtures seamlessly integrate into the existing structure of the bridge to create both a safe ambient lighting level and provide illumination on graphics panels describing the history of the bridge. A linear lighting element is introduced below the deck grating allowing for easy access to the components while shielding fixtures from potential vandalism. Perimeter uplights flanking the bridge deck illuminate the original structure while minimizing glare to pedestrians both on and off the bridge.
