University of Iowa - College of Pharmacy Feature Wall

This powerful wall continues a story that begins outside—when students, faculty and visitors walk through the history of the medicinal garden—traveling through the past and into the future as they pass through the front doors and into the building. Inside, a large, vertical space extends up through the second level, which beckons as a place of interaction. The feature wall speaks to the vision of the pharmacy program, with keywords that were carefully chosen to describe important aspects. Active photos arranged in an arrow subtly point the viewer to the future. From a distance, the photos celebrate the interaction between students, patients and instructors; up close, the yellow edging seen around each photo signifies the level of care taken by the School of Pharmacy. A seemingly random arrangement of dots reveals itself to be a partial world map, with a punch of yellow connecting the word “Iowa” with the State’s placement on the map: a visual depiction of the importance of this world-renowned program.
