To implement the vision and development intent of the Downtown Action Plan, the City and DDRB began by strengthening the current design guidelines for downtown. This work led to a new design standards manual to lay out a framework for when development proposals come forward.
Special standards for downtown focus on form and function over land use type, also known as form-based standards. Below are the draft standards and draft ordinance update for future public input discussions.

City staff and the Downtown Development Association are partnering to host a series of input sessions regarding the design standards proposed changes. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we are unable to host an in-person public input meeting. As an alternative, we are hosting 45-minute sessions via Zoom (video conferencing) in the afternoon on September 23rd. These are targeted at Developers, Business Owners, and Property Owners.
