The project team was in Kermit on Wednesday, February 6th to continue work on the comprehensive plan. Their first stop was to Kermit High School to talk with interested students about community improvements they felt were worth spending money on and where adding and improving sidewalks and lighting would have the most impact.
Following student engagement, the team worked with the steering committee to envision where Kermit could accommodate projected growth. They used colored squares to identify where housing, business, and industry should go, the first step in creating a future land use map that will guide development in the years to come.
Following the steering committee workshop, the project team gave an update on data collected thus far in Kermit and the projections for growth in the future. The presentation can be found here.
