With the recent formation of MidTown Tosa Inc and a continued growth of development, the City of Wauwatosa has begun a process to create a Strategic Master Plan for the portion of W. North Avenue known as MidTown Tosa with the help of RDG Planning & Design and Ayres Associates.
A Strategic Master Plan describes a desired vision for the future of the district and provides recommendations to achieve that future. A Plan helps decision makers, stakeholders, and community members define redevelopment opportunities and improvements throughout the corridor. Doing so establishes a framework to ensure policies and decisions help achieve those aspirations over time. More than a snapshot in time, the plan will be a living document, used and updated by decision-makers, property owners, businesses, and residents. The Plan will provide a measured assessment of present conditions and future redevelopment opportunities that focuses on meeting the needs of the Midtown Tosa neighborhood and community at large.
To ensure that the plan represents the vision of those who live, work, and play in the area, we encourage you to share your opinions and join in the public participation process, consisting numerous interviews, workshops, and public meetings in the coming months. This input will be joined with the analysis of existing conditions to develop a framework for the future of MidTown Tosa. Learn how to participate or contact us directly by visiting the "get involved" tab. You can also learn more about the process by exploring this project website which will remain current throughout the process.
