IIDA is committed to honoring talented and visionary interior designers within the profession. Our Studio is honored to be the recipient of SIX Interior Design Excellence Awards presented by the IIDA Great Plains Chapter.

Wellmark Corporate Headquarters Interiors, wins a Silver Award – Corporate Division. This large insurance provider consolidated its headquarters and operations center from multiple locations into a single facility. Organizational efficiency, employee recruitment and environmental sustainability were key drivers for the overall project. To accommodate the client’s 2,000+ employees, the design includes office space, conferencing, data center, dining facility and other employee amenities aimed to increase staff collaboration and interaction. University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center is recognized with a Gold Award – Education Division. It is a dynamic facility serving as a resource for the entire University community and supporting individuals in their pursuit of optimal health and well-being. The student Fitness and Recreation activity spaces are housed on three levels that open on to each other. The tight urban site required the “big box” components of the recreation facility to be vertically stacked allowing views from one venue to the next. A welcoming reception space encourages students to consult with the Wellness staff to proactively address healthy living strategies. The fresh color palette is meant to inspire new growth and new beginnings for a healthier lifestyle.More
Educare of Washington, DC is honored with two awards; A Gold Award for Education under 50,000; and “Best of Show”. The Educare School is a specially designed place that nurtures early learning and sends a message about the value of investing in the first five years of a child’s development. Spaces are open and inviting and provided with an abundance of natural light. Similar connections and views between the indoor and outdoor learning environments are emphasized. Iowa State University State Gym Expansion & Renovation, wins a Silver Award – Retail/Wellness/Hospitality Division. Iowa State University is committed to creating an environment through exceptional recreation facilities, programs and services to inspire, educate, and empower students and members of the ISU community to cultivate lifestyles to enhance health and wellness. The new expanded and renovated Iowa State Recreation Facilities is designed to be student-focused, express dynamic energy, provide multiple opportunities for social connections and promote life-long learning habits. Echo Block® tile designs for MoDOT and IDOT facilities, win a Silver Award in the Product Design Division. Echo Block® tile designs allow unique integration of artistry into projects to tell a site-specific story. An echo is a soft repetition – a reverberation of the past or that of an image or design. These custom fabricated terra cotta blocks fit into standard 4″ masonry construction. Three projects utilizing this unique product are featured, highlighting the design versatility.
Marston Welcome Center features carved and modeled reliefs based on shell ornaments. The designs feature Middle Mississippian patterns, artifacts, and effigies that wrap the building in continuous bands.
