Mason City Experiences a Downtown Resurgence

Building upon earlier plans and assistance from Main Street Iowa, the community of Mason City has transformed four blocks along Federal Avenue, including a plaza, into the core of their downtown. This revitalization is place specific and targeted to reestablish the downtown as the place for tourists and residents alike to congregate and celebrate. The streetscape and plaza are designed to help Downtown Mason City remain a living heart of the community – a strong economic resource and image center that brings economic benefit and joy to all who have a stake and interest in the future of the city.
