Thomas Dow joins RDG Planning & Design
RDG Planning & Design is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas Dow to our Community and Regional Planning (CRP) team.
Thomas will be extending the firm’s reach and availability further into the Midwest while working from Lawrence, Kansas. He will assist in branching CRP services into the Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas regions, focusing on a range of planning projects, namely within in his expertise of transportation, corridor, and community development.
Most recently, Thomas worked for the City of Olathe, Kansas, where since 2013 he had served as Transportation Manager. He began his professional career as the director of Planning, Building & Development for the City of Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1991. Since then, he has served as the Planning Director for the City of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; as the Economic Development Representative (II) for the Kansas Department of Commerce; as Metropolitan Planning Manager for the Kansas Department of Transportation; and as State Transportation Planner for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Thomas attended the University of Kansas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1989, a Master of Urban Planning in 1991, and became a Certified Public Manager in 2001. Additionally, he served as adjunct faculty/lecturer in 2001, 2002, and 2004, teaching a graduate-level Introduction to Planning course.
