Justin Platts, PLA – Recognized by the Business Record
Congratulations G.W. Justin Platts, for becoming a member of this year’s Des Moines Business Record’s 40 under 40 class!
Each year the Des Moines Business Record honors 40 individuals for their leadership and professional contributions. These 40 local business leaders, who are chosen by past award winners, are under the age of 40 and demonstrate impressive career achievements and unparalleled community involvement.
Justin, a Principal at RDG, currently serves as the chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Iowa District Council. A skilled listener and practiced presenter, he leads public involvement and design workshops across the country to assist groups, municipalities, and institutions to create meaning together. A notable project in Justin’s career is the Federal Avenue Streetscape in Mason City, Iowa because of the inclusive process that was engaged. “So many people from the community contributed to it and each person added value in some way. To me, Federal Avenue is imbued with that collective value and I see it in every detail. It’s an important transformation for the downtown community, people are using it, and it’s full of life.”
Justin’s dedication, commitment and leadership at RDG motivates and elevates our design practice towards creating places of significance and meaning! His love for people of all kinds and the artful design of places for communities are the driving force behind his work. Thank you for your contributions to RDG and our community!
