RDG Recognized with Platinum Bicycle Friendly Business Award
Designated by the League of American Bicyclists, RDG joins businesses across the country contributing to the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America.
The League of American Bicyclists has recognized RDG Planning & Design with a Platinum Bicycle Friendly Business Award, earning it a place alongside over 1,400 businesses across the country contributing to the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America. RDG had previously been recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Business; this year’s award marks a progression in the firm’s standing, moving from a Gold-level designation in 2020 to a Platinum-level designation in 2021 and designates RDG as one of only five Platinum architecture/planning/design BFBs in the United States.
“It has become a sort of tradition at the League to kick off a New Year with Bicycle Friendly Business awards, as the awards serve to inspire the movement for a more Bicycle Friendly America,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “After facing the myriad challenges of 2020, it’s awesome to start 2021 recognizing the efforts of these 43 businesses to be more welcoming to people who bike…the Bicycle Friendly Businesses honored today will help make 2021 even better for people who bike and the communities in which they live and work.”
RDG joins 43 new and renewing BFBs in the League’s latest round of business awards and 1,406 total BFBs nationwide, including everything from government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, bike shops and other employers, all united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to both customers and employees who bike. The Bicycle Friendly Business Award recognizes an organization’s contributions over months and years to the movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.
“The firm has long encouraged bicycling as a sustainable, healthy option for transportation and our offices provide a number of amenities and incentives to encourage bicycling,” said RDG Principal Amy Haase AICP. “RDG puts its mission of healthy lifestyles into action by participating in many bicycle-related events including the National Bike Challenge, in-office bike tune-ups and group rides. We’re proud to be recognized for our efforts to create healthier, stronger communities and improve the health and well-being of our employees through biking.”
As part of the BFB network, RDG will have access to a variety of tools and technical assistance from the League to become even more welcoming to people who bike.
