Focus Groups
What are focus groups?  The consultant team will visit with stakeholders to talk about downtown Waupaca’s opportunities and challenges.  If you would like to participate, contact Brennan Kane.  Additional focus groups will take place on May 17th and 18th.

May 18 (Wednesday)
Community Roundtable and Visual Preference Survey

What is a Community Roundtable?  This 1.5 hour event is open to the entire public.  Participants will work with their neighbors in roundtable discussions to identify issues and big ideas for the future of downtown.  The event will be held on May 18th.  Location to be determined.

What is a Visual Preference Survey?  Participants will score images of streetscapes from across the country.  Images will focus on features like seating, trees & landscaping, lighting, materials (brick/concrete), sidewalks, gathering spaces, and more.  Participants can complete the survey during the community roundtable event or from home, work, or coffee shop.  The survey will be available online on May 18th.

June 21 and June 22 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Design Studio
What is a design studio?  After months of public input, the consultant team will illustrate ideas and concepts for downtown.  Open hours will be available for participants to work side-by-side the designers.  Stop by for 15 minutes or the entire session.
Where: Waupaca Historical Society (321 South Main Street)
When:  Tuesday, June 21st from 5pm to 7pm.
Wednesday, June 22nd from 5pm to 7pm
Drop in anytime for 15 minutes or entire session.

July
Online Concept Review
What is Online Concept Review?  Concepts prepared during the design studio will be posted to this website.  We encourage you to share your comments with the project team to help us refine the plan’s concepts and recommendations.

August
Implementation Workshop

What is an Implementation Workshop?  Decision-makers and key stakeholders will review the plan’s concepts and recommendations in detail.  The group will spend two hours identifying priorities and responsibilities for making the plan become a reality.

September
Open House
What is an Open House?  The consultant team will present the plan’s concepts and recommendations.  Displays and exhibits will be available for participants to review and provide additional comment.

April to December
Steering Committee and Technical Committee
A steering committee will be meeting monthly to provide input, ideas, and feedback for making Downtown Waupaca an even better destination.
A technical committee, consisting of key city staff members, will provide day-to-day assistance to the consultant team to refine the details of the plan.
