The City of Wichita and Metropolitan Area Planning Department created the South Central Neighborhood Plan in 2006 to be used as a guide to increase the attractiveness, safety, and stability of the neighborhood. They are now in the process of updating this plan to help revitalize the neighborhood area by identifying improvements that reflect the current views of the residents. A Community Roundtable Event will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wichita Water Center, 101 E Pawnee Street. There will be a short presentation given with an overview of the project at the beginning and the rest of the time will be an informal small group discussion to talk about priorities for the future. The feedback from the meeting will help guide strategies and priorities for revitalizing the neighborhood’s attractiveness, safety and improvement. Major themes may include land use, transportation, infrastructure, parks, and housing opportunities. Residents and businesses are encouraged to engage with neighbors in your thoughts and ideas at the roundtable event!
