Marty Shukert is a principal at RDG Planning & Design and leads RDG's Community & Regional Planning market.
Marty has over 40 years of experience and leadership in planning and urban design. As Omaha's Planning and Community Development Director in the 1980s, Marty led major downtown and neighborhood development projects, including Omaha's riverfront redevelopment and downtown housing programs.
His specializations include urban design; comprehensive planning; trail, transportation, bicycle and pedestrian systems; housing; and downtown and special district planning. Marty's extensive experience includes such major efforts as the Interstate 40 Relocation and Core to Shore Redevelopment Plans for Oklahoma City; North Omaha Development Project Plan; numerous downtown development and active transportation plans; the Nebraska Statewide Trails Plans; and many other projects.
Marty was the first Nebraskan to be named a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has been named to the Nebraska Housing, Commercial Real Estate, and Omaha Central High Halls of Fame.
