The Art Studio at RDG Planning & Design was recognized as a merit winner in this year's competition.

CODAworx has unveiled the winners of its 2024 competition for the CODAawards: Collaboration of Design + Art. The CODAawards celebrate exemplary projects integrating commissioned art into interior, architectural or public spaces. The Art Studio at RDG’s project, Do Something GOOD for Your Neighbor, received an Institutional Merit award.

The artistic sculptural plaza, commissioned by and included in the public art collection of the City of Forth Worth, Texas, is inspired by Lake Como Park's national beauty and rich history. The structure is engraved with significant text excerpts from The Lake Como Weekly archives and other historically relevant documents. Selected words and phrases emphasize themes of community and identify significant historical community leaders, including the editor and founder of The Lake Como Weekly, William H. Wilburn Sr., and Amon G. Carter Sr., the land donor who helped establish Lake Como Park.

In its 12th year, the CODAawards received 379 entries from 21 countries. Fourteen jurors from the design, architecture and art worlds judged the 2024 submissions and selected winners across ten design categories, all of whom will be recognized during a celebration luncheon at this year’s annual CODAsummit on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
