IIDA Great Plains Chapter Announces 2024 Interior Design Excellence Award
RDG Planning & Design has been honored for its work elevating, advocating for and celebrating the profession of Interior Design in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Great Plains chapter has recognized RDG Planning & Design with an Interior Design Excellence Award (IDEA). The annual IDEA Awards recognize winners, promote interior design and celebrate talent. The awards are judged on the same criteria: 'Good Design is Good Design, no matter the scale, no matter the sector.’ The 2024 celebration occurred on Friday, May 3, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Fusion Medical Staffing was honored with the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award is presented to the project that wins the popular vote from social media and website traffic.
RDG collaborated closely with Fusion’s employees to develop the themes; their infectious energy drove the design process to ensure the space would mirror their passion. The design team aimed to craft a workspace to stand out and reflect Fusion's spirit. The result is a new office space that is fun and unexpected, serving as a testament to Fusion's culture and commitment to enhancing lives.
RDG Interior Designer and Senior Partner Leann Pederson, IIDA, CHID, LEED AP, received the honor of IIDA Member of the Year. The Member of the Year Award is presented to a member who has exhibited leadership and mentorship qualities and advocates for the interior design profession.
“As a young leader in the firm, Leann has faced the challenge of reverse mentoring, delivered difficult news to her team, and managed a heavy workload. I’ve watched her advocate for deserving teammates, challenge fellow leaders by asking hard questions and share in the celebration of our team’s successes,” said RDG Interior Designer and Senior Partner Collin Barnes, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C, AIA Professional Affiliate Member. “She manages all of these responsibilities with strength and a smile. I’m proud to work alongside her, and our organization is better off for her efforts.”

IIDA Great Plains cultivates a design community that inspires excellence while promoting the importance of interior design.
