Kene Okigbo Named a 2024 Outstanding Mentor
Honored for his exceptional mentorship, Okigbo receives top accolades from ACE Mentor Program and ACE Mentor of Greater Omaha.
RDG Planning & Design is proud to announce that Kene Okigbo, PLA, ASLA, has been honored by the ACE Mentor Program of America as a 2024 ENR—ACE Outstanding Mentor and ACE Mentor of Greater Omaha's 2024 Outstanding Mentor. These esteemed recognitions highlight Okigbo’s exceptional commitment to mentoring high school students in the fields of architecture, engineering and construction. A jury of previous award winners selected five exceptional mentors as this year’s ACE Outstanding Mentors.
Since becoming involved in the program in 2019, Okigbo has dedicated countless hours to working with and inspiring students. His mentorship has been instrumental in guiding many young people toward successful careers in design and construction. Known for his approachable demeanor and deep knowledge, Okigbo has made a significant impact on his mentees, fostering their growth and development. As part of this honor, a student scholarship will be named after him, ensuring his lasting impact on the community.

The ACE Mentor Program cultivates a diverse and prepared workforce through mentorship, scholarships and practical experiences. Founded in 1994, it provides no-cost after-school programs that prioritize workforce development for high school students by connecting them with design and construction industry experts. ACE Mentor addresses pressing workforce needs, offers a range of exciting opportunities for students and plays a crucial role in bridging the skills gap through continuous mentor opportunities from high school to full-time employment.
RDG has proudly sponsored the Greater Omaha chapter of ACE Mentors for many years, contributing both time and financial support. This long-standing partnership underscores the firm's commitment to fostering the next generation of industry professionals.
