RDG Planning & Design was recognized for its recent website redesign.

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Nebraska Chapter has recognized RDG Planning & Design with a 2024 Paper Anvil Award. Presented annually, the Paper Anvil Awards recognize programs and projects demonstrating excellence in the public relations profession across 30 categories, with finalists receiving an Award of Excellence, Award of Merit and/or Best of Show. At PRSA Nebraska’s annual awards gala on Thursday, December 5, in Omaha, Nebraska, RDG was presented an Award of Merit in the "Websites and Smartphone/Tablet Applications" category for the firm's website redesign.

“This project took a little over two years to complete, with countless hours and so many people here at RDG giving their time to make it happen,” said RDG Communications Director Erin Van Zee, APR. “Ultimately, RDG's new website is a testament to our evolution and commitment to impactful design. We've created a digital space that resonates with our core values and engages our audiences more effectively, marking a significant step forward in how we connect, inspire and drive positive change.”

In response to RDG's rapid evolution over the past several years, the firm identified the need for a website that better reflects its mission and growth. Collaborating with an external website design partner, RDG embarked on a research-driven redesign process, addressing issues such as an overload of content and poor mobile usability. Insights from extensive stakeholder interviews and a deep dive into analytics led to a strategic plan aimed at enhancing the user experience and elevating brand awareness. The redesign focused on immersive storytelling, clear navigation and a robust content strategy to emphasize RDG's commitment to innovation, sustainability and inclusivity, resulting in a site that resonates with audiences and serves as an inviting gateway for clients, recruits and the wider community.

Entries for the 2024 PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards were evaluated by a panel of judges from the Kansas City Chapter of PRSA. Open to marketing and communications practitioners across Nebraska, each division's submissions were assessed based on four key criteria: research, planning, implementation and evaluation.
