RDG Announces Hanna Hayes as a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer
Hayes is one of only four interior designers across the state of Iowa to achieve a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer designation.
RDG Planning & Design announced that Hanna Hayes, IIDA, WELL AP, Registered Interior Designer, has earned the credential of Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID). The designation, which is provided by the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, indicates Hayes’ commitment to enhancing the health, quality and safety of healthcare interior environments through an understanding of the issues that impact patients, residents, family members and healthcare providers. Hayes is one of only four interior designers across the state of Iowa to achieve this designation.
“We’re exceptionally proud of Hanna for this accomplishment. Working towards and attaining a CHID credential is not an easy process but is an achievement that truly sets Hanna apart from others in her field. Her elevated understanding the nuances and intricacies of healthcare spaces are instrumental in ensuring we continue to design environments that meet the needs of every individual who utilizes them,” said RDG Interior Designer and Senior Partner Leann Pederson, IIDA, CHID, LEED AP.
Hayes joined RDG in 2015 and has contributed expertise to projects across Iowa and Nebraska, including work for MercyOne, University of Iowa Health Care and Nebraska Medicine. She began working towards becoming a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer in 2019, a process that requires extensive study of codes and guidelines, environments of care, equipment needs and functional programming needs in acute care, ambulatory care and residential healthcare living facilities. Hayes officially passed her exam requirements and achieved her CHID in February 2020.
“I am so pleased with the achievement of the CHID Certification. Furthering my knowledge in the healthcare focus market holds great importance in my eyes and I’m proud to stand amongst a group of elite healthcare interior designers who also hold the CHID designation.,” said Hayes.
