RDG in the Media: BD+C's 2025 Office Roundup
The editors at Building Design+Construction continue their series highlighting more than 40 recent office and office-to-residential projects, showcasing the latest the market has to offer for 2025.
As part of BD+C's 2025 office roundup, the magazine's editors selected 40 innovative office and office-to-residential projects that reflect the latest market trends, cutting-edge amenities and construction techniques. The editors categorized these projects by amenities, adaptive reuse, in-progress, LEED-certified, mass timber, mixed-used and office-to-residential. Nine bonus projects rounded out their final list, including RDG's design for the First National Tower Transformation in Omaha, Nebraska.
The First National Tower Transformation reimagined 21 of FNBO's (First National Bank of Omaha) existing 40 stories and 400,000 SF of workspace into a dynamic, adaptable environment that supports its evolving workforce while honoring its rich history and community connection. The private office spaces that dominated the previous traditional layout are replaced by a blend of open workspaces, collaborative zones and areas tailored to different work modalities. The new floor plan balances individual and shared spaces to foster interaction while providing employees access to natural light, open sightlines and wellness-focused features.Â
Beyond the employee work environment, FNBO modernized its workplace by including amenity spaces that meet the needs of all employees. RDG's interior designers created community cafes and hospitality-inspired meeting spaces to enhance the environment and benefit employees. A palette of earthen tones and green accents ties the building's interior to Nebraska's natural landscape while matching FNBO's corporate brand identity.
