RDG Planning & Design brings refreshed interiors and resident-centered amenities to the next phase of Croasdaile Village's expanding senior living community.

Project partners, community leaders and residents recently gathered to break ground and celebrate an expansion at Croasdaile Village’s 100-acre campus in Durham, North Carolina. Spearheaded by LCS Development, the expansion introduces 58 new independent living residences in a mix of cottage and hybrid home configurations. RDG Planning & Design is providing interior design and FF&E planning and procurement services.

RDG’s interior design complements Croasdaile Village's established transitional character while introducing refined contemporary details. Stone backsplashes, playful wallcoverings, layered wood tones, rich textures and moody blue accents create inviting shared spaces that feel both familiar and refreshed. In hybrid homes, textured carpeting and subtle accent colors add warmth to residents' gathering areas, while individual residences offer a selection of finish palettes that allow residents to personalize their homes.

In addition to the new residences, the project includes enhancements to existing community amenities that support residents and staff alike. Planned improvements include an expanded fitness center, renovations to the existing art studio, game room and classroom, under-building parking, kitchen and dining improvements, and new outdoor amenities designed to elevate the resident experience further.

The expansion project builds on RDG's long-standing relationship with Croasdaile Village and LCS, following the firm's work on the Heritage Hall independent living addition and previous capital improvement projects. It is expected to be completed in mid-2027.
