Environments for Aging highlights the benefits of biophilic design and features RDG's interior design for the Woodlands at Canterfield.

Incorporating biophilic and wellness design into senior living communities offers numerous benefits that enhance the quality of life for residents. Elements such as natural materials, plants, water features and natural light create a calming and restorative environment that improves residents' mental health and well-being. Environments for Aging recently highlighted 10 senior living communities prioritizing biophilic and wellness design strategies, including RDG’s interior design for the Woodlands at Canterfield in West Dundee, Illinois.

Biophilic principles guided RDG’s design for the Woodland at Canterfield’s interior space, including careful consideration around daylighting and finish selections such as wood ceilings, wood-like floors and textured wallcoverings featuring a gilded leaf pattern. Additional landscape references are featured amid hospitality-inspired amenities to create an engaging resident experience.
