RDG in the Media: Words of Wisdom for Landscape Architecture Graduates
Speaking to ASLA's The Field, RDG Landscape Architect Kene Okigbo, ASLA offers advice to the next generation of landscape architecture professionals.
The Field, authored by members of the American Society of Landscape Architects Professional Practice Networks, recently published a series of advice entries from professional practitioners to the 2023 graduating class of landscape architecture. Among the participants was RDG Planning & Design Landscape Architect, Kene Okigbo, ASLA, who encouraged new graduates to continue pushing themselves and recognize that inspiring work is work that will never truly "be done."
"...I’ve found that the people whose work is most inspiring to me don’t think that they’ve made it. They just keep trying to do better work today than what they could do yesterday. Their best work is in refining their process and continuing to self-improve wherever they find themselves," said Okigbo.
Okigbo was joined in his contribution by members of the newly formed ASLA Student Support and Engagement Committee as well as several others within the discipline across a diverse mix of experience, tenure and design firm representation.
The Field is a blog that was created to give PPN members who work in landscape architecture a place to exchange information, learn about recent work and research and share their thoughts about current happenings.
