RDG Recognized as a 2020 Emerging Professional-Friendly Firm

October 07, 2020

Presented by AIA Central States, the EP-Friendly Firm Award reflective the firm’s commitment to fostering the next generation of design professionals.

RDG Planning & Design is proud to announce the firm has been recognized as a 2020 Emerging Professional-Friendly Firm. Presented by AIA Central States, the annual awards program acknowledges firms who display an outstanding commitment to the development of their emerging professional (EP) staff.

An emerging professional is defined by the AIA as a student, recent graduate or architect licensed within the last 10 years. AIA Central States, which encompasses the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma, has been recognizing firms for EP-friendly practices since 2015.

As part of its regular practice and culture, RDG provides young designers with materials, resources and mentorship to encourage professional development and growth and support a path to licensure. The firm appoints a registered architect as the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) coordinator/mentor and offers EPs multiple opportunities to be involved throughout the design process. Those in the AXP program regularly set goals and discuss progress, and are empowered to provide feedback on their overall experience.
