Topeka Presbyterian Manor (TPM) is a Continuing Care Retirement Community offering independent living, assisted living, long-term care, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation to seniors. TPM partnered with RDG to renovate spaces within its independent living and assisted living buildings, including the main lobby and reception areas, dining rooms and the community library.

The resulting design enhances the community aesthetically and functionally, providing residents with updated spaces for socializing, and enabling staff to respond to specific resident needs more effectively. RDG's design for the main lobby and reception area transforms a poorly lit, closed-off area into an open space that incorporates natural daylight, decorative fixtures and soft seating to evoke a warm, inviting aesthetic. A critical component of the design converts an existing large meeting space and adjacent storage room into a dedicated dining space for assisted living residents. The new space is closer to the assisted living apartments, helping reduce the distance residents must travel to get there and is intentionally designed with enhanced acoustics, making it easier for residents to interact. RDG completed the renovation in collaboration with AG Architecture and SCOPOS Hospitality Group.
