RDG Planning & Design joins Pascale Sablan, FAIA, NOMA, LEED AP, Beyond the Built Environment and McCarthy Building Companies to bring a SAY IT LOUD – Nebraska Exhibition.

RDG Planning & Design announced today that it is partnering with Pascale Sablan, AIA, NOMA, LEED, Beyond the Built Environment and McCarthy Building Companies to bring the SAY IT LOUD exhibition to Nebraska. SAY IT LOUD – Nebraska is an initiative of Beyond the Built Environment, which seeks to elevate the contributions of women and diverse architects, contractors, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and planners of Nebraska.

“In collaborating with Pascale and Beyond the Built Environment, we affirm our commitment to elevating the work of historically underrepresented individuals in our industry. Encouraging more diversity only serves to positively influence the future of our collective experience and surroundings,” said RDG Partner and Architect, Benjamin Kroll, AIA. “We all have the power to positively impact the world around us. By creating a platform to celebrate the work of women and BIPOC designers, Sablan is helping enact transformational change, and we’re honored to help bring SAY IT LOUD to Nebraska.”

A virtual SAY IT LOUD – Nebraska exhibition, also sponsored by RDG, was previously held in the fall of 2020. The 2022 SAY IT LOUD Nebraska exhibition will kick off in late summer 2022 at RDG’s Omaha office. RDG, along with McCarthy Building Companies, has commissioned a 20-foot shipping container, which will be modified to accommodate the SAY IT LOUD exhibit. The container will start at RDG’s Omaha office, and travel to locations around the city and state throughout late summer and fall 2022 and spring 2023. It will house the SAY IT LOUD exhibition and feature displays of the work, quotes and video interviews exploring each individual’s experience in the profession.

“The concept of this exhibit is ‘To see our faces, hear our voices, feel our impact within the colorful tapestry of our heritage,’” said Sablan. “SAY IT LOUD is the traveling activation of an international movement of sharing, protecting and celebrating the journey of the underrepresented to inspire the next generation.”

Anyone who is a woman and/or a Black, Indigenous, Person of Color who impacts the built environment is encouraged to submit. Designers of Nebraska from across the spectrum of disciplines, years of experience, education levels and age can do so now through June 20, 2022.
