When resounding local sentiment led to research that exposed a deficit in available childcare in Boone County, local agencies came together with RDG to conceptualize a solution: The Boone Beginnings Early Childhood and Family Development Center.
Modeled after the success of similar facilities designed by RDG, this early childhood care and education center provides high-quality programming and family services to the Albion-Boone County communities.
Offering classrooms, flexible multipurpose and support spaces, the Center has enrollment capacity for 80 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The single-story facility is situated on a 4+ acre property with approximately 12,400 SF of new construction and site improvements.
The building design uses a cost-effective pre-engineered metal building system with a gable roof configuration for the structural frame and exterior envelope.
The new facility supports a strong need for all-day, all-year care without competing with current providers or preschool programs. Nurturing cognitive, behavioral and social development of Boone County children improves the quality of life and local economy for the entire community.
