Designed as a flexible, multi-use destination, the recreation center will provide opportunities for fitness, competition, family programming and community events for residents of all ages. At the core of the project is a new Aquatic Center featuring a 10-lane, 25-yard competition pool designed to support both North Platte High School athletics and the North Platte Swim Club. The aquatic venue will also include water slides, a hot tub and an activity pool for classes and recreation, creating an environment that serves both competitive and leisure users. Adjacent viewing areas, natural daylighting and family-friendly amenities such as a wet classroom and concessions will enhance the overall experience for participants and spectators alike. 

The expanded gymnasium is designed to maximize flexibility and year-round use. Multiple basketball courts with retractable dividers will allow simultaneous activities and large-scale events, while removable turf systems and suspended batting cages will accommodate indoor football, soccer and baseball training. Elevated walking tracks and fitness areas overlook the courts below, reinforcing connections between activity spaces and creating an engaging atmosphere throughout the facility. Distinctive climbing walls, including interactive 3D climbing elements, further diversify the recreational offerings and provide opportunities for beginners and experienced climbers alike.
