The Landing at
Middle Park
The Landing at Middle Park is a year-round recreational destination developed through a partnership between the City of Bettendorf and the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley. Located at Middle Road and 23rd Street, the project replaces the former Splash Landing Aquatic Center and Frozen Landing ice rink. Key features include an 11,000-square-foot permanent outdoor ice rink with amenities such as concessions, warming areas, and firepits (opened December 2024), and a new YMCA Water Park (opened May 2025) featuring a zero-depth entry pool, spray features, lap lanes, climbing walls, a lazy river, and a splash pad.
Waters Edge Aquatic Design serves as the aquatics consultant and designer on a project with RDG Planning and Design to bring an aquatic facility and ice rink to Middle Park in Bettendorf, Iowa. A unique consideration for Splash Landing is that it is a partnership between the YMCA and the City. As part of the partnership, the YMCA will operate the facility. As the YMCA leadership and staff have experience with operating and managing aquatic facilities, they were actively involved with determining the preferred amenities and configuration for the aquatic center. Waters Edge collaborated with the YMCA and committee to develop a facility that best suited interests based upon past operating experience.
