College of
Nursing
The Center for Nursing Science positions UNMC to expand program enrollment, research capacity and the integration of instructional technology. The building's glass facade enables light filled environments to overlook the academic greenspace at the center of campus.
A state-of-the-art simulation suite envelopes students in a virtual environment that models a variety of health service delivery scenarios and provides realistic practitioner experiences. Classrooms are designed to quickly adapt from large group lecture to small group learning. Health assessment laboratories provide undergraduate students with an interactive lecture/practice environment. Research capacity expansion includes dry lab and collaboration spaces. Interaction spaces are designed throughout the building to encourage student, faculty and staff engagement outside of the classroom. In addition to new construction, the project outlines a long-range master plan for renovation of existing College of Nursing facilities.
