The honor recognizes an AIA Nebraska firm that has made significant contributions to the architecture profession in Nebraska.

The American Institute of Architects Nebraska Chapter recently announced the 2025 AIA Nebraska Honors and Awards winners, presenting RDG with the Architecture Firm of the Year award. Conferred biannually, the award recognizes an AIA Nebraska firm in good standing that has shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession in design, education and service to the state of Nebraska and its communities. In addition to awarding the Firm of the Year, AIA Nebraska presents a Young Architect Award, Architectural | Design Education Award, an AIAS Student Award and the Harry F. Cunningham Gold Medal each year.

“This award is a reflection of all of the individuals who’ve contributed to RDG’s legacy over the past six decades,” said RDG Managing Principal Nate Gieselman, AIA, NCARB. “We’re proud to be recognized not only for our design work, but for our ongoing commitment to service, education and fostering a culture focused on people where purposeful design can thrive.”

For more than 60 years, RDG Planning & Design has played a defining role in shaping Nebraska’s architectural landscape. The firm has received more than 130 AIA awards and numerous other design honors, reflecting its commitment to design excellence across a wide range of project types, from healthcare and education to cultural, civic and worship spaces and community planning efforts.

As an employee-owned firm, RDG supports civic life throughout the state and fosters future design professionals through mentorship, education and engagement with programs such as ACE and NOMA. Guided by values of purposeful design and civic responsibility, RDG continues to prove that architecture can elevate people and place — raising the bar for design in the public interest.

The 2025 AIA Nebraska Honor and Awards recipients will be recognized at the 2025 AIA Nebraska Excellence in Design Gala on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
