This unique project seeks to set forth design and construction criteria for transforming the site, even as mining operations progress.
In a process that engaged both public and private sectors, broad consensus developed that Crystal Prairie Lake Park should become a model for sustainability. Both active and passive uses of the site are encouraged through a broad mix of programs, which should enable the park to generate revenue to cover a significant portion of its operating expenses.
