Services provided on this project:

Architecture Overview:

This project expands St. Ambrose University's current facilities to create a bold and singular facility that will well serve the immediate needs of its shared users in Athletics, Recreation, and Kinesiology. At approximately twice the size of the existing PE Center / Lee Lohman Arena, the Wellness Recreation Center (WRC) will become an important campus icon and a deeply held asset of this campus community. The large open volume of the Fieldhouse serves Athletics with new practice and competition venues. Recreation has access to spaces never-before available for open recreation. Kinesiology receives appropriate new academic venues, along with multiple new spaces for activity classes.

Graphic Design Overview:

t. Ambrose University's Wellness and Recreation Center has quickly become a standout among similar facilities, leading to increased student enrollment. The center's impact was immediately apparent upon the introduction of signage, wall graphics, and banners. Staff members have noted that these elements leave users "wowed." The wayfinding and graphics make it easy to identify different areas within the center. Room signage, inspired by the school’s mascot in a honeycomb shape, can be easily updated to include donor information. The center effectively conveys the SAU brand with bold colors and imagery, cementing its status as Fighting Bee territory.
