Justin Platts Named to Des Moines Business Record's Forty Under 40 Class of 2018

A respected leader and landscape architect, Platts has been honored for his professional success and contributions to the community.

RDG Planning & Design Landscape Architect and Principal Justin Platts, PLA has been recognized as a member of the Des Moines Business Record’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2018. The Forty Under 40 Awards are an annual recognition of 40 local leaders under the age of 40, honoring both career achievements and community involvement. Winners are selected by a panel of past recipients and will be officially recognized at a ceremony later this year.

Platts has contributed award-winning design work for communities across Iowa, several of which have been recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), American Planning Association (APA) and Public Art's Year in Review. An experienced practitioner, he has authored and co-authored articles for multiple trade and professional organization magazines and regularly speaks and presents on the importance of an inclusive public process when seeking a successful community design. His advocacy for the importance of sustainability, walkability and vitality in urban areas has led him to be an active participant with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Iowa District Council since its inception, serving multiple leadership roles including district council chair and governance chair.
