Session Details

Whether in urban areas or rural communities, housing toolkits are growing in popularity and assembled toolkits for a variety of reasons. This session will review why communities and regions need a toolkit and what can go into the toolkit. The discussion will include an exploration of the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority’s (NIFA) 2022 Strategic Housing Framework, which included the development of a housing toolkit to help communities understand the development process and how to build support for key housing issues and strategies. Presenters will also highlight the Prep Guide and Omaha Municipal Land Bank's Disposition Strategy and discuss which external resources can support a toolkit.
