Architecture Overview:

The 1893 Cattermole Library is the earliest extant instance in Iowa of local philanthropic support for a building designed exclusive as a public library. Located within Fort Madison’s historic central business district, the structure was restored and rehabilitated for mixed-use purposes, with commercial/retail space on the first floor and four market rate apartments on the second floor, boasting beautifully restored woodwork, windows, and finishes throughout the structure.
