Campus
Recreation
Building
(NCRB)
This project renovates almost every square foot of the 66,700 GSF North Campus Recreation Building. This mostly opaque three-story steel and masonry structure was constructed in the late 1970's, and unfortunately suffered from a distinct lack of natural lighting and beneficial transparency.
The renovated NCRB features new transparency in and around the new main entrance and main south facade, combined with significant interior changes including improved circulation, transparency and functionality. Program spaces include a renovated cardio & weights area, pool, rec sports offices, and the addition of functional fitness, group exercise and locker rooms. existing racquetball courts are converted to international squash courts. Designed in collaboration with Integrated Design Solutions.
