Amid increasing competition for talent and continued demand for services, RDG remains a top design firm as part of ENR’s annual list.

Each year, Engineering News-Record‘s Top 500 Design Firms list ranks the largest engineering, architectural and environmental design firms in the U.S., and also examines trends affecting the industry across markets and regions. The Top 500 list ranks firms based on architectural revenue from services performed in the previous year; in 2023, RDG Planning & Design was ranked #398.

ENR notes that the AEC industry continues to address limited labor resources, often facing the issue of too many projects and too few hands to get them completed. How firms innovate to work with owners through tighter profit margins, project schedules and inflated project costs is becoming an increasingly complicated tale; however, for the seventh consecutive year, total revenue for Top 500 listed firms increased—up by 14.4%, the largest revenue jump recorded since just before the start of the Great Recession years.
