The City of Grinnell was fortunate to have the renovated Iowa Transportation Museum, a structure on the National Register of Historic Places, come available at the time they needed a new location for their City Hall offices.

When the museum was forced to close due to a change in Federal Tax credit funding, the City was able to relocate their offices and repurpose this historic space to serve the needs of the citizens of Grinnell. The interior renovation integrates state of the art offices, workstations and technology into the former museum spaces, and provides a new spacious City Council Chamber. The high ceilings are accentuated by the newly renovated tin ceiling. Partial-height walls allow an uninterrupted view of this feature.
