Master Plan
The 2004 Master Plan assesses the facility needs on UNMC's Omaha campus for the College of Medicine, School of Allied Health Professions, College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Dentistry, and Continuing Education. In addition to academic facilities, the master plan evaluates facilities needs related to student and faculty quality of life.
Wellness facilities, food service, conference facilities and social space were important considerations in the development of the plan. The plan's facility recommendations included renovation of existing facilities, demolition of some facilities and construction of a new academic core facility. A restructuring of the campus environment incorporated modifications of the pedestrian and vehicular infrastructure on campus to create a front door to the campus, as well as a heart to the campus. The residential facilities on campus will be significantly impacted by the development of the campus core, thus a new approach to campus residential concepts are being developed.
