Healthcare Snapshots features RDG's design for the new cardiovascular suite, which creates efficient access and is outfitted with cutting-edge equipment to enhance patient care.

Jennie Edmundson Hospital, part of Nebraska Methodist Health System, has unveiled a cutting-edge cardiovascular suite. The suite represents a significant leap forward in heart care for Council Bluffs and the southwest Iowa region. Designed by RDG Planning & Design, it greatly enhances the hospital’s capacity to expand its cardiovascular services.

RDG’s design for the cardiovascular suite incorporates all-new equipment and streamlines operations, allowing the hospital to perform advanced procedures more efficiently and manage patient care more effectively. The suite is strategically positioned between the hospital’s emergency room and radiology department, offering the advantage of close proximity to these vital areas. Its location ensures quick access to operating rooms and locker rooms, enabling rapid response when necessary.

The new suite replaces the hospital’s outdated cath labs and features two Class 2 imaging rooms, a minor procedure room, four prep/recovery rooms and additional support spaces. Designed with patient and family experience in mind, it includes a dedicated family waiting room, intuitive movement flow and a clear separation between family-access areas and procedure spaces.
